Tod Sloan 1962 Team Canada Galt Terriers World Championship Game-Worn Jersey - Family Provenance

Remarkable Tod Sloan #7 game-worn wool jersey from the 1962 IIHF World Championships, worn as the Galt Terriers represented Canada and captured the silver medal in Colorado Springs.

The cream wool jersey features the Terriers' distinctive red maple leaf crest across the chest, with red and black striping throughout. "CANADA" is sewn across the upper reverse above Sloan's large red #7, providing an unmistakable connection to the team's appearance representing Canada on the international stage.

The Galt Terriers earned the right to represent Canada after capturing the 1961 Allan Cup. At the 1962 World Championships in Colorado Springs, Canada compiled a 6-1 record and earned the silver medal, with its only loss coming against eventual champion Sweden. Sloan played a major role in the tournament, recording six goals and ten assists for 16 points in six games, finishing second on Canada in scoring.

Sloan entered the tournament immediately following a distinguished NHL career with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Black Hawks that included Stanley Cup championships with both organizations. The 1962 World Championships represented the final chapter of his competitive playing career.

The jersey is accompanied by exceptional direct-family provenance. According to a letter from Robert Last Jr., Sloan personally presented the jersey to his grandfather, longtime Galt Terriers trainer Edward "Toots" "Doc" Last, following the team's participation in the 1962 World Championships. The jersey subsequently descended from Last to his son and then grandson, remaining within the family until its present offering.

Independent historical records further support the provenance, identifying E.K. "Toots" Last as trainer of the Allan Cup champion Galt Terriers.

Authentication & Provenance
Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Robert Last Jr., grandson of Galt Terriers trainer Edward "Toots" "Doc" Last, detailing the jersey's acquisition directly from Tod Sloan and subsequent descent through the Last family.

Condition
The jersey exhibits wear consistent with its age and attributed game use, including scattered marks, staining, pulls and areas of wear to the wool body. Lettering, numbering and crest remain well presented. Please refer to photographs for complete condition details.
