1991 Frank Thomas Game-Used & Signed Rawlings Adirondack Professional Model Bat – MEARS A9 – JSA LOA In Progress (Greenshields Collection)

Outstanding Frank Thomas game-used and signed Rawlings Adirondack professional model baseball bat dating to the 1991 MLB season during the early years of the Hall of Famer’s legendary career with the Chicago White Sox.

The bat has been professionally authenticated and graded by MEARS (Memorabilia Evaluation & Research Services), receiving an impressive final grade of A9 with certification number 323813. According to the accompanying MEARS Letter of Opinion, the bat exhibits extensive player characteristics and heavy professional use consistent with Thomas’ documented professional gamers from the era.

MEARS notes include:
Heavy game use throughout
Deep stitch marks visible on barrel
Numerous ball marks and surface wear
Correct uniform number “35” on knob end
Professional player characteristics consistent with Frank Thomas use
Uncracked handle condition
34 inches / 30 ounces
Ash wood construction

The grading breakdown awarded the bat additional points for heavy use and player characteristics, resulting in the impressive final A9 designation.

The bat has been signed by Frank Thomas in blue marker across the barrel, creating excellent display appeal alongside the heavy visible game-use characteristics.

The autograph was submitted to James Spence Authentication (JSA) during the 2026 Montreal Expo and has successfully passed authentication. The official JSA Full Letter of Authenticity (LOA) is currently being processed and will be provided to the winning bidder once received.

Nicknamed “The Big Hurt,” Thomas was one of the most dominant offensive players of the 1990s, combining elite power, plate discipline, and consistency throughout his Hall of Fame career. A two-time American League MVP, five-time All-Star, and member of the exclusive 500 home run club, Thomas remains one of the most collectible players of his generation.

Early-career game-used bats from Thomas’ rise to superstardom are especially desirable, particularly signed examples from his Chicago White Sox years displaying strong use characteristics and accompanied by respected third-party authentication.
