1924-25 V130 Maple Crispette Newsy Lalonde #27 - Montreal Canadiens

Important early card of Montreal Canadiens legend Newsy Lalonde from the scarce 1924-25 V130 Maple Crispette issue.

Known as the "Flying Frenchman," Lalonde was one of hockey's first great superstars and scored the first goal in Montreal Canadiens franchise history. He captained the Canadiens to their first Stanley Cup championship in 1916 and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1950.

Issued by the Maple Crispette Co. of Montreal, the V130 set is a distinctive 30-card Canadian issue featuring black-and-white player portraits. Card backs advertised a promotion allowing collectors to exchange a complete set for a free pair of hockey skates, contributing to the scarcity of surviving examples.

Authentication & Grading
The card is ungraded and has not been professionally authenticated by a third-party grading service.

Condition
Ungraded. The card exhibits age-related corner and edge wear, surface wear and toning consistent with an original century-old issue. The portrait remains well defined and the reverse advertising remains clearly legible. Please refer to the photographs for complete condition details.
