1911-12 C55 Imperial Tobacco Hockey Complete Graded Set (45) - Georges Vezina Rookie KSA 4

Offered here is a complete 45-card 1911-12 C55 Imperial Tobacco Hockey set, with every card professionally encapsulated and highlighted by the important #38 Georges Vezina rookie card graded KSA 4.

Issued during the formative years of professional hockey, the C55 set is one of the hobby's foundational pre-war hockey issues. Its distinctive colour portraits depict stars of the National Hockey Association including members of the Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, Quebec Bulldogs, Montreal Wanderers and Renfrew Millionaires. The standard set consists of 45 numbered cards, with two known variations of Walter Smaill #27.

The checklist includes an exceptional collection of early hockey legends and Hall of Famers, led by Georges Vezina, Art Ross, Newsy Lalonde, Cyclone Taylor, Joe Malone, Sprague Cleghorn, Didier Pitre and Jack Laviolette. Several of the issue's most important cards are recognized as rookies, including Vezina, Malone and Cleghorn.

At the centre of the set is the Georges Vezina #38 rookie card, graded KSA 4. One of the most important cards in pre-war hockey collecting, Vezina's C55 rookie represents the legendary Montreal Canadiens goaltender for whom the NHL's Vezina Trophy would later be named.

All 45 cards have been professionally encapsulated by PSA, SGC, KSA or Beckett, with grades varying throughout the set.
