An exquisite set of 4 hand painted Minton cabinet plates. Each plate features 6 elongated turquoise, ivory to cream coloured panels which are elaborately decorated with raised 22-karat gold scrolling forms amongst laurels & flowers. These panels are displaced by smaller panels of a similar motif all enclosing a central lozenge form. Minton is known to have some of the very best gold gilders and plates of this complexity were executed by the very best master gilders, who left their initials on the back. Pattern H4968, one of Minton's famous "G" and "H" patterns bears the gilder's "R" mark underside. Circa 1950. Size: 10-5/8" (27cm) diameter each.
