Exceptional framed Roberto Clemente signed check display featuring a personally autographed check dated November 21, 1972, just 40 days prior to Clemente’s tragic death on December 31, 1972. The check is drawn on Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, adding an additional layer of historical and personal significance through its direct connection to Clemente’s native Puerto Rico and the humanitarian work that defined his legacy beyond baseball.

The check is completed and signed by Clemente in blue ink and remains prominently displayed within the custom framed presentation. The combination of the exceptionally late date, strong visual presentation, and direct connection to one of baseball’s most iconic figures gives the piece significant collector appeal.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Major League Baseball history, Clemente was a 15-time All-Star, 12-time Gold Glove Award winner, National League MVP, and member of the 3,000-hit club whose humanitarian legacy continues to resonate throughout the sports world.

This item was reviewed in-person and deemed authentic by James Spence Authentication (JSA) at the 2026 Montreal Sports Card Expo. A full Letter of Authenticity (LOA) is presently in production by JSA and will be sent to the winning bidder.  

The piece originates from the Greenshields Collection, a long-held private collection assembled over many years featuring a broad selection of autographed sports memorabilia and professional model equipment.

Condition
