Known as “The Boss,” Steinbrenner purchased the Yankees in 1973 and oversaw one of the most successful eras in franchise history, including multiple World Series championships and the restoration of the Yankees as baseball’s premier global baseball brand. His impact on Major League Baseball and the sports business landscape remains immense, and he was posthumously elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2025.
