Daisy Makeig-Jones (1881-1945) for Wedgwood, Fairyland Luster Bowl (Z4968) Wedgwoods famed Fairyland Luster series created by Daisy Makeig-Jones had enormous success in the 20's. Her lavishly-decorated pieces which depicted fantastical scenes of her own imagination are clearly celebrated in this example. Fairies, elves and other mythical creatures are amongst an opalescent spider web background all surrounding a pond with mushrooms. The exterior shows arches and houses in landscapes all displaced by Mediterranean cypress trees.
