Issued between 1909 and 1911 as part of the legendary T206 White Border series, this iconic pre-war tobacco card set remains one of the most important and recognizable releases in the history of baseball card collecting. The set features many of the game’s earliest legends and is widely regarded as the cornerstone of the vintage baseball card market.

Nicknamed “The Peerless Leader,” Frank Chance was the captain of the famed Chicago Cubs dynasty of the early 1900s and a central figure in baseball’s celebrated “Tinker to Evers to Chance” double-play combination. Under Chance’s leadership, the Cubs captured four National League pennants and back-to-back World Series championships in 1907 and 1908.

This example showcases the striking yellow-background portrait design that has made the card one of Chance’s most visually appealing and recognizable issues. The reverse features a Sweet Caporal Cigarettes advertisement, one of the most collected and historically significant advertising backs within the T206 set.
